Why Christian Counseling Matters
God is our Wonderful Counselor (Isaiah 9:6). And sometimes, He works through people (2 Corinthians 1:3-4).
That’s what draws me to Christian counseling. It’s not a career, it’s a calling. I’ve seen firsthand how God shows up in quiet rooms, through slow conversations, in the moments we finally tell the truth about what hurts. Therapy changed my life, not because it fixed everything, but because it gave God space to move through the broken places.
Christian counseling honors both our humanity and our hope.
It’s not about praying it away or pretending you’re fine. It’s about letting the Holy Spirit guide the process as you learn to name what’s been buried, process what’s been held in your body, and move forward with clarity and grace.
I use evidence-based tools like EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) and CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy). I work with the nervous system. I pay attention to patterns. But I also invite God into the room. Into the grief, into the healing, into the growth. This is where healing becomes holy ground. Where clinical skill and spiritual sensitivity meet. And I believe God works powerfully through both.
This is the work I get to do now, and I am so honored God has forged this path.
I believe healing comes when we stop separating the spiritual from the emotional. When we let God work through both truth and therapy.
When we let Him use the people He’s equipped to walk us forward.
Proverbs 11:14 “Where there is no guidance, a people falls, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety.”
It’s not about fixing. It’s about restoring.
Maybe you’ve been wondering if it’s time to take that next step. To invite God into the emotional work. To give yourself permission to heal. If so, I’d be honored to walk with you.
And it starts with one step... in truth, in grace, and never alone.
